Pradelles

Auvergne

It was a protection place in the 11th for pilgrims and muleteers.

Pradelles was a crossroad for the trade roads of salt, oil ,wine and ammunition during the religion wars. The village streets seduced RL Stevenson in 1878, he told of his trek with a donkey for ten days in a remarkable book called « Travel with a donkey in the Cévennes ». You can follow his steps on the GR 70 (a trekking path) now also called the Stevenson trail.
