Ségur-le-ChâteauIt was the cradle of the viscounts of Limoges. Their fortress mirrors itself in the waters of the Auverèze. Located at the top of a rock, surrounded by hills, the medieval Ségur could still wait for enemies. Craft and trade developed thanks to the royal court of justice for Limousin and Périgord. Rich mansions remain from these glorious days. The village also prides in a granite house with a tower and a watchtower, the knight’s tower, tour St Laurent and maison Henri IV. What to discover?• Church St-Leger: everyday 9h-18h. • Sentier botanique and arboretum. • Village: guided visit Friday at 14h30 in July-August, on appointment out of the summer season. |
